Berlin to Black Hill
In 1941, a lone RAF Hampden bomber returning from a raid over Berlin lost its way back to its base in Yorkshire and found itself flying over the mountains of Co. Wicklow, Ireland. In the early hours of the 18th April the aircraft crashed into Black Hill near the West Wicklow town of Blessington. Its four crew were killed instantly and now lie in the graveyard of St Mary's Church in Blessington.
This is the story surrounding the tragic events of April 1941.
